Art Program
Art has the energy to transform a space

The Canvas Gallery employs innovative artwork solutions that
complement the aesthetic and philosophical vision of our clients
while still adhering to their budgetary constraints. Our diverse
company of San Francisco artists and curators work collaboratively
on a variety of projects, from small businesses to corporate spaces
to fine hotels. We promote new-media-trained, hypertext-savvy
artists as well as artists working in traditional mediums and
styles, all of whom are among the most exciting emerging and established
creative talent in the Bay Area.
The Canvas Gallery works closely
with each client assessing individual goals following a three
stage program:
1. Gallery Tour or Site Assessment
Whether our client already has a decorating scheme in mind or
is looking for suggestions, The Canvas can help. We begin the
transformation of a space by either inviting our clients to tour
our gallery and backroom collection or by visiting the site itself
to assess interior space; furniture placement, architectural features,
lighting and décor. We then discuss our clients’
aesthetic goals and preferences as well as their budgets, and
outline the fiscal parameters of the project. Both the assessment
and the estimate services are complimentary.
2. Budget and Preliminary Presentation
Clients have the choice between a Rental Program and a Purchasing
Program. Renting is a great option for those Companies interested
in creating a regularly changing environment. Rotating art keeps
a space fresh and contemporary and eliminates the logistical responsibilities
of managing an art collection. However, for those clients interested
in buying art as an investmen,t our premier curators can assist
in identifying the work of emerging artists, thus adding valu
to a collection.
After an art program has been chosen, The Canvas prepares a budget
proposal which includes the costs of artwork, framing, packaging
and shipping, installation, and sales tax. We offer several flexible
payment plans to suit our clients’ needs.
3. Acquisition and Installment
Our curating team oversees all purchasing, shipping and framing
of artwork. We also facilitate the acquisition of commissioned
works for specific locations such as sculpture for outdoor areas,
works for atrium spaces and large lobby walls, or any other architecturally
and aesthetically challenging spaces. After installment, our team
can recommend art insurance and assist the clients in developing
an ongoing art program for the company or business.
