Vision:
Dong Sun Kim began painting at a very young age learning through trial and error. Over the years he has developed a signature style characterized by neat lines, short brushstrokes and a vibrant palette. Influenced by classic Asian landscaped his paintings read from top to bottom, from the heavens to the earth. In a dramatic sweep across the canvas California’s coastline emerges bold and powerful.
In addition to his landscapes Kim is well known for his murals, which have taken him all over the country. Some of his murals of migrant workers may be seen rising high above the Salina’s fields. Whether painting small detailed landscapes or epic murals his works reveal a natural born artist.
