Vision:
Andrea Wicklund grew up in Wisconsin, learning to paint with watercolors
under the tutelage of her uncle, wildlife artist David Wicklund.
Her journey as an artist has taken her from water colored country
sides to gracefully illustrated dream landscapes. Drawing out of
her imagination, Andrea’s forms and color shift like the clouds
of her childhood sketches. For Andrea, drawing and painting is a
spiritual exercise which brings the artist
toward greater self-awareness.
Andrea’s fantastic, bright and powerful images are
like her dreams, collected from a variety of sources. While she
admires contemporary artists such as Dave McKean, Euan Uglow, and
James Jean, she looks to Klimt, Schiele, Sargent, Van Gogh, and
various other masters for artistic problem solving.
Education:
BFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art College, San Francisco
